Over the last 2 years, we’ve been endeavouring to nurture more biodiversity areas in the Churchyard. Ring fencing areas for wildflowers to flourish, planting hedgerow saplings such as hawthorn, blackthorn, hazel, dog rose and rowan on the borders of the Churchyard. We’ve built a Church Bug House and recently built a raised bed to house a variety of biblical herbs. Yesterday, the Churchyard was open as part of Ideford Open Gardens. We did a survey of the many species of wildflowers. There were 26 species in the big patch amongst the oxeye daisies and another 12 amongst the other 5 roped off areas! We were very pleased!
