Protecting Wildlife - Preserving Heritage - Involving People

Step One – Get Ready!

Before your visit, ensure you have permission and discuss your plans with the clergy, churchwarden, or site manager. They can provide valuable insights and information to enhance your visit. Confirm that your planned activities align with their expectations, and inquire about any potential hazards for your risk assessment.

Step Two – Join In!

This week is all about celebrating these special places, and there are so many ways to join in! Young people can delve into the history, admire memorials, get artistic, let their imaginations soar with creative writing, or go on a wildlife adventure and record the plants and animals they find. The choice is yours!

If you’re documenting wildlife, you can send your records to wildlife@cfga.org.uk.
Better still, capture images on the day and upload them to our iNaturalist Beautiful Burial Grounds Project.
Watch your records grow online season by season!
iNaturalist not only makes documenting findings enjoyable and straightforward, but also aids in species identification.
Simply join the Beautiful Burial Grounds Project within the app and start submitting your records.
